Cutting out now and again

My car cut out a couple of times today whilst driving when iv pulled up at a junction, its not done this before.. it only did it once on a journey earlier on.. and after spending 3 hours off the road jacked up messing about with my wheels it did it a few times when going out, and the engine management light came on too. It was running fine apart from this.

When i pulled up home just now it idled fine, and the engine light was off.

The previous owner said it could just be something to do with the cams, theyre ph3 newman cams set to 110 degrees if this matters to anyone?

Could it be anything to do with needing an oil change?

when i jacked my car up last month for about an hour it did the same thing, as i came to a junction to stop it just cut out, then did it again later on, but hasnt done it since, weird
