Hi guys, basically my bonnet is fucked because it flipped up while the previous owner was on the motorway.

I have the opportunity of a fibreglass from ebay but it doesnt have the grill.

Therefore it doesnt have the second release clip that is normally in the grill.

Has anyone ever experienced any safety issues i.e flipping bonnets associated with fibreglass bonnets without the second release clip??

Need some quick replies as the guy says he will only hold it for a wee while.

cheers david didnt know they existed but looked into it and seems like a safe alternative.

hopefully can start gettin my sax sorted

Seems to happen when the bonnet isn't clipped down properly - bonnet pins would make it safer but look a bit out of place on a standard car IMO

He has the opportunity to buy a fiberglass one . . . . . but it doesn't have the secondary/safety catch - I didn't read 'want'.

I would look for a second hand standard one - then just ensure it's clipped down after you've opened it, unlike the previous owner.

iv got a fiberglass bonnet on my track saxo with 2 bonnet pins holdin it on. been on for about a year. never had any problens with it vibrating or tht as its quite a gd tight fit mate
