hi i am 17 and drive a astra but when i turn 18, i am looking at getting a track car and i was thinking about a saxo vtr or a 106 gti and i dont think i would be able to run both cars on the road, well for the insurance so i was wondering would i be able to just get day insurance on the track car for just when i want to take it on the road to drive it to the track

You can get day insurance. may struggle getting it at a decent price though with your age mate might be cheaper just to buy a trailer and trailer it there.

Pretty sure you cannot get day insure untill your 21?

I got it at 20, heard of people getting it at 17 and 18 but its never been cheap, especially for something like a gti/vts.

i got mine with brentacre i had just taken insurance out with them as well. for another car. Sure there are others that will do it as well though.

well i was thinkin if i put the car inusrance in my dads name and he drove it to the track i wound still probably have to be on the insurance as a named driver aswell woundnt i so i could drive on the track with it

if he wanted to tow it there and back you would need to go and take a hgv 1 i think thats the one as your licence doesnt allow you to legally tow.

If you tow it you shouldn't need to pay Tax or MOT I believe? Unless you need them to race. Thats a huge extra cost.

yeh i was thinking about gettin my dad to tow it but then need a trailer etc, so was wondering if i get the car and it all in my dads name would i have to be on the insurance to drive it on the track

on the track it doesnt need to be insured but on the road it does.

1. You can get day/week insurance fairly cheap when under 21 .. just search google properly.
2. Its much cheaper and easier to just add a car to your policy for a week.

Thats my experience anyway
