And company's dont even bother replying to say you were not successful.

How hard can it be for someone to send am e-mail/phone call saying you didnt make it after sending a good half hour applying....

Makes me rage,i'm struggling to live with my current job and i'm looking for an extra job./whole new job

Applied for god knows how many jobs...not a single reply

If they replied to every single person who applied they'd never have time for anything else.

For example we recently had 2 positions open and within a day 150 people had applied, you can imagine what it was like after the full week was up.

People who make the interview stage and then don't get accepted are always told they haven't got the job, but seriously, companies don't have time to tell everyone.

It's just something you have to accept.

not difficult to set up an e-mail feature that sends one generic e-mail to the e-mail address of those in the 'no' box, would take about 20 mins to set up and use no minutes to administer :)

I was thinking the same, something like "if application successful=No then Send No e-mail to senders address" but OBV in some VB script or similar

Not hard...

this is pretty much it, especially in this climate so many people are applying for the same position its just not possible. but just make the assumption that if they dont get back to you then you havent got the job

but what time frame do you give?
2 days?
2 weeks?
Dad keeps telling me to chase people...but then i'll look like a desperate cunt "hello,i applied for a job..did i get it"
"did we get back to you?"
"No"
"There's your answer"

See,if they got back with a simple"Sorry you didnt make it" it wouldn't be so bad

actually, you could probably set it up in Outlook
Just drag and drop unsuccessfully applicants to a folder, set it to do a send/receive every 10-15 mins and if there's anything in that folder, then it sends the No e-mail

Hell,if i can think of it why cant these company's faaakin do it?

this is true for jobs locally advertised, but those on e-mail applications from website adverts get so many through they aren't bothered

Yeah, exactly.

Exactly that, they say they ring you, but chasing them can be good, but you pretty much know the answer is gonna be exactly what you said;

" "hello,i applied for a job..did i get it"
"did we get back to you?"
"No"
"There's your answer"

Tbh most companys will only get back to you to tell you your unsuccesful if you get through to an interview stage.

EazyDayz
25th September 2009, 15:56
If you need to have experience and you apply and you have no experience, then they will just chuck the application in the bin :)

if you make it to interview they will say you have failed to pass

We had a job advertised, iirc it got 340-350 replies a week. We dont do computers and not everyone had an email, so its impossible to tell everyone sorry...
