Does anyone know if the vw audi etc 1.9tdi engines are the same in all models just in a different state of tune?
i.e. if i was to get a 110bhp tdi golf and remap it would it have the same affect as if the same remap was done on a 130bhp tdi golf or do they use different components?
Hope that makes sence ha

Different turbos and intercoolers are definate. Think the internals are different too.
As a rough guideline, 110s usually go to 130/140bhp with a stage 1 remap
130s to about 170bhp, and
150s to about 190bhp

Depends which range you're on about.
As an example, the Golf MK5 ED30, Seat Leon and Audi S3 all share the same mechanicals etc just tuned specifically for each application. A stage 1 with Revo will see around 300bhp in all 3 cars.
Same goes for the Mk4 Gti and 180bhp anniversary model - just over 200bhp after a map.

Was mainly the diesels i was looking at to be honest mate although i have had a look at some 1.8t's aswel but the diesels seem alot better on fuel and insurance. Iv heard some good things about the vauxhall 1.9cdti's been able to go to 200bhp on a stage 1 aswel
