Anyone got this setup? I know it's a brilliant setup for track but what's the feel like on the road?

After many long debates if being used on road best thing is Group N's on the front and B8's on the back...unless you want to change torsion bars...

personally just for the road i cant see the point in running bilstein group n's.
Depends what your comfort levels are, but i think they are too hard just to get for road use.
B8's are a good set up and many give them a great review! :y:

How about this for a scenario.
My vts is going to be for 90% track & ride comfort is not important, but i simply cannot justify the extra costs of the torsion bars.
Am i still better off going for Grp N's on the front & B8's on the rear?

Grp N Billies and the 155lb Faulkners are totally fine on the road imo. The ride is actually better than the Spax PSX kit I had on my last car (with dampers set to one of the softest settings!).

you have to remember, the group n's are design for competition use and NOT general road use.
There not going to last forever before they need replacing/servicing.
As for the group n's on standard torsion bar.
I felt the b8 rears handled better than the group n's in that case.
Think it was Kam or AlexR who managed to get in touch with bilstein who confirmed that the Group N rear (blue capped) are designed for use with the pug sport 21mm torsion bars.
I had mine fitted for a while on standard bars while i was waiting on my 21mm and drove the car hard, both on track and b roads, yeah it felt better than the koni's, but it never felt right or well balanced at all.

If he is only going to run 155lb springs he may aswel just get the b8 shocks. :p

Yeah, I'd agree. Only reason I went for Grp Ns is because I got them at a good price - was worth a try and i'm fairly happy with how it handles for hooning around B roads. Would be nice to get it on track next summer and push it a bit harder - if it invokes too much oversteer, the rears will be swapped for B8s more than likely.

Depends how much money you have to play with. For mostly track use, you'd want stiffer springs than 155lb, thicker torsion bars and Grp N dampers all round. I'm sure Steve could recommend what lb springs/ size tbars to go for.

I meant in terms of buying them new :P

Oh, I see. B8's would be more than ample for 155lb springs. Should be a near ideal fast road setup with decent ride quality too.

Thanks, I think i'll go for the B8's then as I do use the car a lot on the road and I don't really want to uprate the torsion bars aswell due to the extra cost!
