I'm going to look at a VTS gearbox on 42k and it's 2hrs 30mins away. what shal I check for to make sure is in good condition?

you can check oil drain plug for metal deposits and make sure it selects gears.
only thing is it wont tell you if the diff or syncros are damaged. you find that out if you strip it or fit it.

ahh right ok, what if there is metal deposits?
so it's just buy it n hope the fuckers a good un lol

Pretty much! sold as seen.
Can select each gear and turn the input shaft be hand in each.. Wont tell you much but will give a little insight. :)
