Pretty sure it was one of these, unless there is a higher spec mini on the market? Just flew past me and then seemed to stick to the road like a magnet around the roundabout! Just had a look on parkers and it appears they are like 208bhp! Never knew mini had one out like this! Anyone been in one? Think it was a 59 plate too :fcuk:

aye, i beleive they have a pretty good wheel base & geometry, plus theyre not ridiculously heavy for a modern car

Just noticed that, 1100kg. Mega light for a modern car tbh

yep, like 140kg more than a vts, and you could get it sub 1000kg easy i reckon
that weight includes a shit load of mod-cons too, and a good build quality
the most under-rated of the "hot hatch" current era?

Must be pretty under-rated tbh. I've never heard of them before really. First one i've seen too so must be pretty uncommon. Like you say, won't be too difficult to shed some weight. Bet there are some right stripped out ones running silly bhp on mini owner club websites! Suprised they haven't had it on top gear? new series maybe?

theyre a ltd edition car too?
ive seen some very good cooperS, and obv this is the more refined version as standard, so there must be some weapons out there

I don't think it'd be as easy to get sub-1000kg as you'd imagine, they start with no back seats (a la GT3 RS/R26.R), so that's the main source of weight gone.
(Or that might be the GP, possibly)
EDIT: Actually checking Google Images, JCW have full leather interiors, so yeah, you might be right actually.
And it is the GP that's stripped, as I suspected.

GP is quicker I believe.
Officially it's a Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP Edition. Or something similar.
So it's a JCW, plus more.

Good pics, they cost to much when there is so many faster cars at that price.Built loads of the classic mini years ago with mates, the classic will be a investment car in the near future.

Stole my mates Mini one a little while ago while he was at the pub. Agreed about the handling... right laugh and that one had tiny little steel wheels.

Too late, original coopers are gettin pricey already. you need to be on that band wagon already really!
Its been on top gear, but hasn't been ragged by the stig on the track yet.

What are they then?
BMWs :y: and their is loads of cars smaller it defies the object of 'mini' like when the original mini came out they were the smallest car around and were very very inovative with their transverse engine and gearbox in sump! the engine bay was only 18" from back of grill to front of bulthead!
just my 2pence :P
And Markdavid they are an investment now! if you can find a solid one for say £1500, give it abit of a polish some 13x7" ultralites and some arches you can sell it for round £3000!! :y::drink:
