Ok been going mad for two days now trying to get this to work here goes.
Firstly i plug the 8gb usb stick into the back of the computer
Then this pops up...
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab204/deanopaff7/REMOVABLEDRIVEE.jpg
Ok now i no it is removable disk (E)
So i click on it and it takes me to this...
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab204/deanopaff7/MYMUSICFOLDER.jpg
I then create a NEW FOLDER called MUSIC as you can see then i click on the music file i just created witch opens a blank music folder......
Then i load up BEARSHARE.....
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab204/deanopaff7/OPENBEARSHARE.jpg
Then i drag a MUSIC FILE witch are mp3/wma files from bearshare into the blank music folder i made on my removable disk (E) earlier.......
http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab204/deanopaff7/DRGGGAEDPICTURES.jpg
As you can see music files in my removable disk (E)
Then i click the little Green arrow in the buttom right hand corner of my computer to SAFLEY REMOVE HARDWHERE job done.
Now thoe when i plug it into my HU it just come's up reading, reading, reading and my hu takes both mp3/wma files....
If the above is right Poss sticky as this question is asked alot and more to the point that my hu is shite
If not then PLEASE CORRECT ME IN WHERE IVE GONE WRONG......
THANX PPL.

my guess is that the bearshare files will be in the wrong format for your HU to play.

Plug it in
My Computer -> Format -> Quick Format
Open up E:
Copy-paste the Mp3 files straight to it, using Windows Explorer, rather than BearShare
Then try it in your head unit

In regards to your question I'd imagine that the files aren't the right format. I'm guessing your HU plays MP3s? Can't you right click on the file and choose properties or something on a PC and then check what the format is? I use a mac so I'm not too sure.

Probably a folder somewhere with all the BearShare music files in it... Is there a way to check where the files are located through BearShare? Right click one of the songs in the playlist and you should be able to check.
Of course I could be chatting shit but I just feel bad about pointing out the poo on the screen.

yes there is my computer -> my documents -> theres a folder in there called Bearsheare and all my music is in it?
Bearshare only has mp3 and wma files so they cant be the wrong file type wtf

And the files in that folder are definitely MP3/WMA? And also, you are copying the files from that folder not from BearShare itself?

This is painful to watch. Make sure you drag the files from the FOLDER instead of within Bearshare. Enjoy ;)

You're copying shortcuts to the file.
Open media player, add all your music to the library, then "sync to device".
Or, another way, go to the directory of where your music files are stored (could be one place, could be many depending on where you put them), and highlight them all, then copy, then paste them onto the stick.
Good luck =].

how it stands?
The files im using are wma/mp3 originals not copy's or shortcuts.
My HU takes wma/mp3 files.
Re-formatted it.
Tried it without the music folder straight on to the drive nothing.
I've put them into the correct drive.
I always safely remove hardwhere when takeing my usb out of my computer.
I leave it plugged in to my headunit for 5 mins with 5 songs on it so it isnt that it didnt have enought time to load.

That is a AU audio file, needs to be converted.
Try converting one of the tracks to mp3 using this online converter, then try putting it on the usb stick again.

If this works fine, then you can download a freeware audio converter and convert the whole lot.
This for example.
