hi all
my mrs is a photographer but she still works with 35mm film so i was going to buy her a digital SLR Camera . now i read that all pentax lenses were interchangable from the 35mm SLR cameras to the digital SLR cameras is this true ? and are the pentax digital SLR's any good compared to other makes& nbsp;

mate that is the same with canon and nikon and personally i would choose one of them instead unless she has loads of pentax stuff but to be honest you can pick lens and stuff up cheap enough on ebay.

how much you looking to spend. the canon 20d is pretty good (£800) or if you want to spend more then go for a Nikon D200 or a canon 5D

..and if you want to spend less, get a 350D which is almost the same as a 20D and a lot cheaper ;)

yeah everything she has is pentax including about 8 - 10 lenses ... i was going to spend about £650 and get one with no lense attached cuz she has plenty and i aint got a clue whats good or bad so if i just get the camera body itself i cant get something she already has if u know what i mean.... smileys/smiley14.gif

not sure mate if you have a look on ebay you might be able to find a lens mounting ring which would allow you to use pentax lenses on a canon or nikon

have a look on http://www.warehouseexpress.com/ there seems to be some good deals on there. There is a nikon d50 for £349 which seems very good

you get very limited functionality with that sort of set up though. no auto focus for a start...

better off buying a Pentax DSLR if she's got a bunch of lenses and wants to stick with the brand...however, the Pentax range is somewhat limited and they're not what someone taking photos for a living might use.

a decent 35mm SLR will produce better prints than a 6 megapixel DSLR any day of the week smileys/happy.gif
