to what engine?
vtr? from a furio kinda pointless if you ask me! to a vts then yeh might have something. but again make sure its a legal engine swap and your not trying to have a VTS but on insurance a 1.4 as that is one of the other reasons honest saxo owners have to pay more on insurance then they should do. due to idiots trying to do thing on the cheap or by bending the rules.

Also, yay! well done on inserting pictures :D.

To a VTS engine. I have gota find a 3 plug VTS engine first tho.
I feel the same, there would be a point in a vtr engine. It would all be legal on the log book and on insurance. I have been quoted £1500 a year for a furio with a VTS engine. And it would be done by a garage so it would be done properly.

http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261320
But i think if a garage does it like you said, its legal.

Yeah i have already read it. It's legal if a garage does it and you have receipt n all that crap

then think to yourself the price of the car, cost of insurance and the cost of the engine conversion.
is it actually worth it? you wont see a penny of that in return mate. it would have been cheaper to just go and buy a VTS with the price of them at the moment.
me personally id put the furio up for sale lol.
reason been on insurance the car would be a modified car with the engine conversion so insurance would actually end up been slightly more then a real vts lol

That would probly be easier than a conversion. Deffinatly cheaper. I'll start looking lol.

eh you'll save around £1,000+ easily mate lol
then think to yourself well thats a grand I can put away and save up to getting a turbocharger kit for a vts ;).
see it like this. garage does the work.
1. you need an engine
2. all its fluids replaced
3. furio IIRC is rear drum brakes? you would need a full rear axle from a vts or vtr. and then get all the pads and discs changed to new ones (all around)
4. antiroll bars from a vts
5. labour on taking the furio engine out then putting the vts one in. thats a days work easily and lets say it was £35 an hour. and they do 10 hours on it. thats £350 already spent.
5. the fee's to change all the paper work over etc etc
6. insurance and tax would go up
you aint thought it through very well have you mate lol. before you wll know it you will be burning a hole in your pocket.

you could sell your car and buy a vts fro probably the same price as your cars worth. so you'll have lost nothing and have a VTS :)
then spend the money that you were gunna spend on the conversion on getting cams and a remap :y: win.

That motor looks the bees bollocks, do nothing to it, don't lower it,or severely mod it, trouble in store there, and as others have said a big hole in your pocket.
I agree with most enthusiasts on here who have answered your qs if you cannot live with the Furio get rid, then buy a vts that comes with 16 valves or a vtr 8 valve the latter at least half the price on insurance and in real terms 2.5 or so seconds slower 0-60 than the vts therefore is the vts worth the extra well that's a matter of opinion, it is your shout mate. Turbo cost a mint too I would suggest you sleep on all these things before you decide, me I would keep that splendid looking motor you already have..

I can insure a VTR or VTS, my previous car was a mk1 VTR and got wrote off last sunday on a motorway and the furio is the replacement, I looked for a VTR again but couldn't find any local lol. I think i will leave the furio as it is for now and maybe get a disk axle because the bushes are well worn in the axle on it at the moment, feels like its on ice.

So you got the furio cause it was local?
Ahhhhhhh MAYTE.
Why?! :p. Why not a) search for longer, better prices, more variety/too choose from, b) wait untill you've found what you actually want :p.
Don't wanna put a downer on your new car though mate, I'm sorry, it IS nice. I do like it =].

its one of those things to get something good you must be willing to bite the bullet sometimes.
the downfall to that method is, and how I now have found out lol.
you spend money to go look at cars but then forget SHIT im eating away at my savings I put away to get a car. so before you know it originally you was looking at cars priced at 6k next thing you know your looking at cars priced £5,500 lol

Have you ever considered Ebay in your search for a motor[loads of people do]private sales of vts and vtr 01's - 03's are cheap as chips on there, you gotta bid of course for them but don't exceed 2k even if they are heavily modded go like shit off a stick or whatever because maybe you would find them ragged or slammed when you get em so look and ask plenty of qs before you part with your money and for your sake absolutely insist on a years MOT this should put your mind at rest that all is well in the safety dept, and, ensure that at the very least you will get a year out of it. .. ..If as you say you can afford the insurance go for a vts, why settle for less if you have the money..Settling for less will always leave a doubt in your mind as to 'what if'..me I would stay with that Furio it looks the part..
