bought these tyres from ebay and the description reads as follows.

Continental Sport Contact 2 Extra Load

235.40.18 95Y (235 40 18)

this is what i have got. The 'nicks' are slightly bigger than i was expecting. Will these will be ok to use?

A bit of scrubbing would be ok, any small or big nicks are a no no.

looks like you can see slight cords in the 2nd pic of the 1st tyre cords vis = blow out quite poss

pretty sure a roadworthy tyre has no cuts or bulges. so the VOSA van could fine you for them or even a police officer in a bad mood. i wouldn't risk it, even though i've just read you have taken them back anyway !

those tyres look dangerous to me personally - especially on a high performance car. Could fit them but worth the risk ?
