Hmm...I know a few guys here in Croatia, they have v-maxx coilovers on their cars and they are satisfied with v-maxx, they said I should buy them...so I'm confused now...I think they should be ok for 1.0 engine...

Up to you mate at the end of the day, they are cheap for a reason. Ive heard loads of bad reviews from people on this site about them. Your best bet is going for a set of GAZ i think they are £430.00 delivered to your door on ebay.

OK, but, what do you say about this link? http://www.stratmosphere.com/Test%20Redline.pdf They said that coilovers are not quality as others but also didn't say they are so bad that we shouldn't buy them...you know what I mean...

as a previouse owner ive had first hand experience of these and they are horrible

they are waaaaaay to soft for how low the car goes and you end up smashing bumpstops all the time
one solution is to cut the stop but then the design of the spring means you end up with the top mount and the coil collar clashing which is bad
some people cut the top coil off and run a bigger spring pan but then due to the shortness of the spring it comes unseated when the wheel is unweighted
ive seen a few sets modified with new springs and dampers and they seem ok short term but then after a while the soft alloy spring collars end up stripping threads and the bottom pan comes free (again spring comes unseated)

personally i only got them as they were 15 quid and i wanted my car low for a car show lol

Save a bit longer and try get GAZ coil's, I've been in friends cars with others and in comparison the GAZ's are just a nicer ride, they all do the same job in the end of the day and lower your car, but its about ride quality. ;)

They sound like they will be as bad if not worse.

If you want coilovers then you need to pay good money for them.....it really is as simple as that.

I know, but I wolud like to buy some coilovers because I think it's better than put only a springs on stock shocks...I wouldn't go on track, drive slalom or something like that, I only want to low my car for about 80mm for good looking, but still not jumping like with springs and stock shocks...So that's why I want cheap coilovers

Coilovers are springs and shocks, just with an adjustable seating for the spring.

Yes, I know, when I said springs + stock shocks I meant on aftermarket springs, like spax on standard (stock) shocks and that's not good because car jumps too much, that's why I want coilovers - aftermarket shocks + aftermarket springs...

you could just get a stanard style lowering spring and uprated shocks

but you cant go about 80mm that way
ideally you want to look at something like h&r coilovers for what you want

as said already within this thread.
when it comes to coilovers you pay for what you get, so you need to work out exactly what your prepared to spend and what you want from the car, then go for the best option within your budget.

im knew to the saxo world, and ive never even heard of Vmax suspension, but i am familiar with Gaz coilovers, gaz are ok for a mid range budget coilover for the use of my track car but i cant comment on there ability on the saxo, but they evidently have good feedback from the previous responses

this thread is also beneficial for me, as id like to get a set along with some decent brakes for the misses vtr for xmas, so she can tag long when im at the ring again in spring.

different prices and spec's will be widely available when you start looking.
mine cost me just over £1800

if your looking at coilovers under £400 then i can almost guarentee they will be the saem as the v maxx shit, theres one company making them and every other big suspension firm buys there kit and sticks there own name on it.

off the shelf fk or gaz seem the best value. you can make up ur own kit for good money by converting your struts urself.

it doesnt matter how slow and gentle you think you can drive with the vmaxx kit, set fully lowered you will be dangerous as hell on the road, and the ride is unbareabale!

Me again :) One question only :) I'm thinking of getting this cheap coilovers, ta technix and lower the car max 60mm (because roads in croatia are...I wouldn't talk about them), on stock tyres 155/70 13. Will they do properly their job? To handle and drive normally or will make "metal to the metal" sound etc? Thinking of getting them because my standard shocks are "killed" and need to buy new, and coilovers are cheaper then buying koni yellow, bilstein b6/b8 for H&R springs 50mm. What do you think about that?

Cheers ! ;)
