bankers drafts are as good as cash as you need the funding in the account before it can be issued. it just looks like a normal cheque but it has an employee of the bank's signature on it not the customer. im not sure about cancellation im afraid.

There generally fine but the problem with bankers drafts is they can be faked.

if he has the cash in the account for it, tell him to take it out of bank and pay with the cash instead for ur piece of mind,
can he get the draft then empty the account? therefore making it useless?
i wouldnt accept something i know nothing about.

his bank wont let him withdraw the amount without booking it first as it is quite a few grand, he has to book it but wont get it till monday or he can pay and fee and give me a bankers draft. he also said i can take a copy of him and his wifes driving license for peice of mind, and yeah i am violent at the quietist of times so i dont think he wants to upset me lol

didn't mean to sound bitchy in my post lol
well the bank only issue the draft if there is that money in the account then the bank take the money into their account. so they cant take the money back. if he has the money can you not just ask him for the cash as that is easier to check?
edit: just noticed your post.

Bankers draughts used to be a sure thing. As good as cash as said.
In a modern World of forgery and deception they aren't worth a wet wank these days IMO..........

Ditto
The missus works for Lloyds TSb and she wouldn't let me take a bankers cheque. Very easily forged apparently..........
