Its not an Evo 7 :P... but its a decent alrounder none the less. Decent economy, lovely cabin, smooth power delivery, 4WD and they still go well.
Good car indeed mate.

Jazz it aint no evo yet but after a miltek with sports cat, filter and map it wont be shy anymore and your right certainly is a good allrounder i have had the fast motors and tbh i didnt use the power that much anyway i tend to cruise as appose to stick my foot down!

I am not a fan. I could never justify spending that much on what is accentual a old Skoda. The look are a bit like or hate it as well. Its more a fashion type car that looks good for a attractive girl. Pony looking for most guys. The handling is quite poor as well even with the ugly spoiler added. Defiantly no sports car. But most of all the reliability. Anyone remember the watchdog on them? Its one of the few cars that makes Fiats look well made. But hopefully they will have sorted that buy now?

Yeah they're good cars- anything VAG and Turbo is bound to be decent. Only thing is apparantly they don't handle that well as standard, but unless you're ragging it round country lanes all day that shouldn't be a problem. Quattro yes? Which means decent all-weather flexibility.
My dad's got the same 1.8T in his Mk1 vRS, (same block, smaller Turbo and other changes iirc) and that goes very nicely, power and torque increase in the TT should be sweet.
With those mods you'll be chasing standard Scoobs and Evos anyway I'd imagine..

well picked this up last thursday and im really impressed not sure what made people think they dont handle well cause it feels almost identical to my evo handling wise and has a very nice early turbo pull very quick nimble car i was rather suprised at how much of a good all rounder it is, comfortable, quick, loads of toys, great brakes, looks good
Highly recommend one of these cars to anyone cant wait to buy some goodies for it

lol what? Are you living in 1994 or something? They might share some parts of have a very similar chassis to an octavia or something, but that's a compliment to skoda.

Motorway superb 6th gear low rev cruise was averageing about 35mpg, around town i think i was gettng around 25mpg sometimes lower but i was giving it some at times.
Super unleaded made a difference to its performance so i would recommend when you get yours to give it a full tank of the good stuff i noticed the petrol cap says 95-98 ron, i noticed it was perkier with the 98 stuff

why is it anything that is a soft top is a hair dressers car.
saying that tho my bro is a hair dresser and he has had a mazda mx5 and now he is in a honda s2000 lol. enought said I suppose haha.
my uncle has a TT aswell not sure which one it is though. its pearl white he said its a good car to handle but something is a miss with the suspension.
stiffler69
3rd November 2009, 21:48
Im not sure about suspension but they were recalled for work on the rear wishbone or something cause they rear wheels would buckle in over going round corners and cause the car to flip, ive not had any problems handling wise infact i was on a country road this morning and kicked its bollocks in and it handled great!

I was thinking of one. Pretty cheap insurance for what they are tbh. But iv been loking at a few VAG cars recently just want something reliable, quick an comfy as a day to day. The TT's do look very nice though with a bit of work on them.
