I just wondered what people's opinions would be on going back to my original saxo!
Kinda like it's a car I know and it's modded like i left it bar the wheels!
I know it's been driven very well by a friend and I know the service history like the back of my hand.

I wanted to go back to my first real love - a cherry red GTI.
Got the lad down to like £800 for it, went and test drove it.....broke down on the test drive, i thought 'oh bless it' but then i was like i still want it.....then i went home, had a good think.....and i walked away.....was hardest decision of my life :(

25th October 2009, 20:38
Spose it's all about why you got rid of it
Dodson
25th October 2009, 20:42
But on another note......i went back to a girl i was with when i was 19 and im 25 now.....and that was a good decision, been going out together 6 month now....
Luke
25th October 2009, 21:07
I'd go back Oz - you know it's been looked after by *insert username* as I have forgot it but it was a nice car when you had it and you know it's full history.
Which would be making way for it?
craig180
25th October 2009, 21:10
I saw you in the saxos for sale section this morning ;)
Do it if I could find my first saxo (incidentally my first car) and it had been well looked after I'd buy it back
oz_borne
25th October 2009, 21:12
LMAO @dodson. I did that too.....now we're married and pregnant!
The reason i got rid was cos i decided i wanted diesel. Now i've got a cupra and that's the big diesel sorted and my White micra is not quite befitting!!!
Azzy has the car at the mo and is gonna part ex if i don't get it! it needs a few bits like welding and maybe new wheel bearing but it's driven well and will cost a third of what i am actually looking to spend on a car, so can afford to seriously look after it!
Anywho.

Do it mate. The fact your considering shows you miss the car. Me and a mate were saying last night, despite how crappy built they are, Saxo's and 106's are such addictive cars once your into them :y:

That's so true. And we're looking at ones close to us anyway.
a VTS is really where i wanna go, but speed is not my thing, i've had a beeza, and A3, and the Leon now handles the speed well so this is purely looks!!!!
MUHAHAHA
Talking top Azzy this week, so will decide later on!

Fair shout tbh.
Would quite like to get a Zetec Focus myself, fed up with the VTR.

26th October 2009, 01:03
i had a 2000 vts, sold it and got a fiasco zetec-s, then a 182 cup, sold that and now have a 2002 vts. seriously good cars, you should come back. i dont regret my decision in the slightest.

Too right!
I did that when i first had it. and lowered it 40 on 16s.
He's put charcoal VTS wheels, lowered 60mm, and VTS interior, and straight through Magnex also replaced a door strap and wheel bearing and clutch too.
But for a little under a grand it's still a bargain run around!

If I could, right now, yes, without a doubt.
I'd have it to see me through uni, was so much nicer to drive and look at than my S, far better on the go-go juice. Just much more sorted to my needs...

Do it Oz man! I can't see a better alternative for price particularly if you're set on going 2nd hand. You know the history, the owners, the car blahdy blah blah. Probably not a good car for putting the future tot in though - congrats btw!

Stop teasing us, You know you will get it back so go buy it. Sounds like it is still a nice car. If you don't do it now before the baby comes (congrats by the way) You never will. They just seem to take all your spare cash.

Have decided i will be taking the car for a test day on Thurs to just see how much love there still is, and whether the baby stuff will fit in it. (not our stuff, a mate's) and then will go from there.
Have discussed azzy leaving in the stereo, including sub amp and sony Bluetooth Head unit, and we've come to an arrangement, so i'm pleased as punch for now, so we'll see what it's like when driven!!!!
MUHAHAH

I will not be mine.
Love the car, and it's in great condition, but just not suitable for the expanding family!
But I would not hesitate to go back otherwise!

Shame mate.
I manage to fit a few baby bits in mine, but its not ideal. Missus is getting her licence as we speak, so she can get the bigger car lol.
I know what you mean about getting old cars back. I would love to have my silver westie back (if it were still in the same condition that I sold it in mind!)
Luke
29th October 2009, 23:12
Shame mate, but at least you gave it go before you decided.
The search continues then?
