and living in the centre of mk, building stables just anywhere isnt really an option, the ones we have cost enough to build, and the horses are worth alot, but i dont need to tell you how much taaa

unfortuantly, horses cant be ridden in fields when they're wet, which pretty much rules out the whole winter :) a horse damages a tendon or ligament and you could have a horse worth 20k being worth 20 for the hunt dogs in a second. so yeh, we'll use the roads. why do you hate horses on the road out of intrest? like, how does it bother you so much?

My missus has a horse and on many occasions has had to fight to keep control of her horse due to pricks hammering past, and before the "if she cant keep control of it blah blah blah" many peoples exhausts are de-cat (not allowed) or are too load with regards to the current vosa noise level laws!
When people's cars are 100% legit etc then they have a little more right to comment, but even then they just need to have more respect for road users whether on foot, bike horse of combine harvester

Alot of things don't "need" to be there, like cyclists and ramblers and Tractors at rush hour!
The reasons for tailbacks alot of the time is due to peoples lack of knowlege on how to pass horses properly and often their fear of overtaking in general.

as i said, i move out the way whenever i can, as in pull into awkward spaces and stop a stupidly strong horse so that no cars get pissed off with me, and if they cant get round, i speed my horse up a considerable amount so i dont cause any jams as i hate cars up my horses' arse, it causes almost as much trouble as a car speeding past, and i have some very young horses who get very worried. and i like to think it makes drivers give us more respect if we make an effort to move for them, meaning next time they see me, they are alot more polite and patient.

but i dont like cars going to slow to take over, the horses get freaked out by a car creeping next to them,

See the annoyance though? I don't know horse preferences, whether they like creeping or being surprised by being passed at 30mph. On driving tests I was told to pretty much crawl. Now, if i don't crawl i get criticised for going to fast. I'm sure there's a happy medium there somewhere but i'll be damned if i know it.

I know what it is, horses stay in fields where they belong for recreational use and cars can use the roads like they were meant to. Roads wouldnt be made of concrete if they had been designed with horses in mind. The same as fields wouldnt be grass if cars were meant to be on them.

But it is only the motorway that seems to have any restrictions, the lower speed restriction roads can't stop horses cos they are slow else that would then mean tractors, milk floats dustwagons and various other vehicles would in turn have to be stopped using them too, also horses can be used as a legitimate form of transport/towing it's just alot of people don;t now, thus turning it merely a pleasure thing.

I don't see what everyones big deal is with horses. Yeah I have encountered a few and have they bothered me, no, not at all. I understand that my car on full chat would give a horse a fright and could throw the rider off and cause death or disability and I couldn't live with that so all you need to do is slow down to a reasonable speed (I usually go about 20-30 depending on the road), dip the clutch, turn the music down and accelerate when I can no longer see the horse in my rear view mirror. Unless its in a corner then I usually count to 10 and then go
