I can vouch for this, i have vts engine with vtr gearbox too.
70 on my speedo with a sat nav is about 62-63 mph :P

depends what you want, vtr is cheaper to run than a vts by a fair bit especially if youre doing a lot of motorway miles. if you want all out speed go for a vts, and again if youre planning on doing any sort of tuning you may as well start out with a vts

mate of mine has a 1.8t gti and to be fair it goes very well, even before he has since had it remapped to about 210bhp apparently
