They are quit slow cars especially for a 1.6. They are strong and well built so problems are rare :y: with a few subtle touches they can look really nice

The older ones have a 1.6 8V which is dog slow and shite on fuel... think they changed to the 16V engine in 2001 - Y reg? You definitely want the 16 valver tbh.

they are bollocks mate. fuel is terrible and they weigh a bomb. only real problem i have ever heard of is wishbones goin alot

i think the 1.6s are slower than the 1.4s due to gearbox choices,not too sure though.

im going to have a look at it tonight and give it a good checking over and get my mate who knows about cars to check everything over aswell, thing is will it be more reliable than a saxo :P

Not at all, the 1.4 is shockingly slow - the 1.6 isnt much better but not as bad as the 1.4.

If you arent into ragging it around all the time, it should be ok.
Thought about a 1.8 20v (non turbo?)
