Yes they are.

Look at most evo owners vs saxo owners, that's part of the problem

its a young drivers car, insurance is higher by default. they expect evo drivers ect to be older and more experienced

its more expensive for me to insure a escort turbo than a skyline gtr, tvr cerbera(sp?) or an rx7. all i can put it down to is the stereotypical driver and the nickablilty of them.

You're 26 and can insure an Evo or Supra for that little? What on earth are you doing in a saxo?

I'm 21 and have been quoted for a 2009 Nissan GTR a grand total of... £2391, which is just a little more than an import scoob worth 3k, which is really odd.

Now all I need is to find 60k for a GTR and I'm sorted.

In the late 90s there was a crashed TVR Tuscan in the local scrappers. There was extensive body damage but I was working with composite at the time so I called up for a quite to see if I could get insured on it. They had trouble finding the car as it was when they first came out but ended up giving a quote but it was less than what I was paying for a 106 at the time. I did not get it as no one would lend me the £11,000 they were asking for it. But then again giving a teenager £11,000 to spend on a 185mph super car was probably classed as a some what risky investment.

could have been rather amusing though.

you get that car and you smashed it up. unfortunatly for all the new TVR owners there insurance would go up 900%!
