just a few q's

what years are they made from, whats the difference between a s14 and an s14a, anyone had experience of them?

im only interested in building a fast road one, no drift stuff, will be daily driver.

any things to look out for?

I think they S14/a's were built from 94-99. S14a's are the facelift model, a few minor revisions over the S14, mostly cosmetic as far as I know.

Look out for rust on boot lid, rear arches and sills, rear arches especially.

Listen for rattle from the head as it's either the VVT or the rockers are dying, also listen for usual knocks etc.

Check out here (http://www.sxoc.com) for more info

They're decent enough coupes with almost limitless potential if you like tweaking. won't get into them too much as the link for the SXOC is used for that, but in short they're solid, well built but with drab interiors, handle nicely with RWD, great SR20DET Turbo engine with 197bhp (non-turbo ones do miss out), good cars.

The SR20DET's do suffer from a few faults though, like rocker arms failing and the bodywork does begin to show rust on the rear arches like many older jap cars.

Check the owners club for more info.

Yep SX Nissans are the drifter's choice, S13s, S14s and S15s all of them. SX coupes, choice of the Drift Brigade. Always used in tournaments/championships, like D1 etc...

:) was just taking the mick out of tokyo drift, but you are right they are awesome at drifting especially in the flesh(metal), was lucky enough to get a press pass at silverstone, so i could stand in the middle of the track and have them drift round me.

a mate of mine has a s14a, only just got it back on the road after a engine swap (rb25 i bileve) the engine out of a r33 gtst.
as said, they seem to have almost limitless potential for tweaking. dont have much experience of them except that this one is fucking rapid!
i could prob get some specs/pictures up if your interested. my mate is very knowlegable about them.
he's trying to persuade me to get a s13, apparently all you need is to turn the boost up and a few minor upgrades and there good for 250bhp.
also, from my point of view the s14a and s15 are the only good looking ones, s13's can be picked up cheap for some RWD fun though ;)

S13's are cheap for a reason, they're normally full of rot.

My brother is on his second S14a, this ones got the usual basic stage 1 mods and is running roughly 280bhp according to the RR printout that came with the car.

S15's are stunning cars, but still a touch expensive.. My money would be on an S14a Silvia anyday.

ive just solt my s14 and got this vts , wat a difference lol , s14s are a good car if you got a big wallet for when things go wrong , myn was at 290 bhp it went like stink and did 170mph plus , not bad for an old motor:y:
