is there power actually getting through the amp!
multi meter on the + and -
THEN
on the REMOTE and the -
chances are, there is a remote switch on the headunit, since being removed from one car, needs to reset and turnt on again! this will then allow power to go through the remote cable, to the amp...*remote cable, is like a remote of the TV, switch it, and it tells it to turn on*
alot of people forget about this! and end up with no audio! lulz!
then check to see if the power is leaving the amp so again, multi meter on the + and - of each connection going out *speaker wires*
EDIT : IF there is no power on the Remote Cable, get a little piece of wire, and put it on the connection of the + on the Amp! and the Remote on the amp... so bridge it. see if this turns the amp on.
you can run it like this, but will leave constant live to your amp, even wit the key out of the ignition, so would reccoment putting a switch in the middle of the cable, so when you finish you can turn it off.
but note, a remote feed is about 3V the live 12V ! do so at own risk for a prolonged period of time! just to try it, will be fine.
if this works... its the remote cable / head unit, not sending the correct signal.
