ordered mine off Game.co.uk and it arrived today, didn't have much time to play multiplayer but it was Brilliant!

Managed to get the singleplayer sorted though in 5 hours :D

The single player is as EPIC at COD4 and you'll understand and LOVE it if you have played COD4...but im not sure if the pace is as good as COD4.
The Story really is Brilliant! but gameplay wise, its very samey at the start.

Yeah I dunno why that is. I only completed it on default difficulty. I dunno if you need to go through in veteran to get 100%. I think it might have something to do with collection the 40-odd pieces on 'intel' too.

Yea mate, u do - u get 90G for Harden/Vetern Difficulty

U'll also get 25G for completion of two seemingly random missions.
eg. 25G for completion of 'Just like old times' and 'End Game' on Veteran

In my opinion yea -its as good as COD4 campaign wise. I'm working my way through the Special Ops which are mini missions -quite testing on veteran & if your looking for a challenge for 1000G then this game could well be it.

I've not checked out the multiplayer yet right enough but I'm hearing good things :y:

Anyone else notice a lot of frame rate drops in the single player campaign? Seems to happen when there's a lot going on, or you are near things like flames or smoke.

I noticed a lot when playing COD4 multiplayer. It would only happen if there was an explosion near you. I'm sure it never happened when I had my component Xbox 360. Seemed more common when I bought an HDMI model one...

what me and my did yesterday was obv be in a party, then when it asks you to swap to game chat we did that so we could enter the lobby, then we added each other into private chat and carried on playing, hate hearing all the annoying yanks and youngsters etc whilst playing!

I've more or less given up on the Spec Ops missions after seeing the Echo Missions.

So I finally moved onto multiplayer today -OMFG!

Only bad thing I've found is spawing nxt to someone else is a pretty regular occurence.

The thing that does let the game down is that the game is pretty hard to play online, you can't be a complete novice and jump into the game and come out with a score. I find that you need to be more of a veteran at either cod4 or cod5 to even survive, my mate had a go and he always plays FPS, but never online. He came out with 2 kills and 18 deaths, thats the reason I think the game is lacking for me, it just isn't as much fun as cod4 as you find yourself having to concentrate too hard on the game at hand, where as on cod4 it was a simple easy to play game.
Still undecided If I like it.

ps also hating the look of some of the guns far too arcadey.

There are XP challenges where you have to get x number of single shot sniper kills. theres even some for 1 bullet 2 kills.

I guess it'll also depend on the range and what perks they have?

Its pure unrealistic, the Barret uses a 0.50 cal bullet thats 4.5" long, one shot anywhere from that and you wouldn't get up!

Snipers are the same Ferg. However, using a silencer reduces the dmage from 70 to 50. Therefore, if you're using a silencer and NOT using Stopping Power, you cannot get a OHK with a sniper rifle, even to the head.

There are kind people out in Internet world who put all the stats together. I studied all the stats for COD4, as they were well documented. Stats for COD MW2 are not official yet, but people have already put together some decent enough info. IGNORE the in-game weapon stats, they are competely wrong.

Just some basic info, as it will take me too long to explain it all:

You have 100 hitpoints. Most weapons have a max and min damage, but some always have max - I will explain later. A weapon's Range is how far its bullet will travel before it loses power. Let's take the M4A1 as an example. The M4A1 has a damage rating of 30 - 20. This means that its bullets will do a max damage of 30 and a minimum damage of 20. What determines the bullet damage is Range. Range is typically set by the category of the weapon, such as Assult Rifle, SMG, etc. So, the M4A1's bullets will do 30 damage if they hit the enemy within a certain Range. So imagine the Range to be a given distance on a map. Once the bullet passes this threshold, there's an 'x' amount of distance (pretty much un-calculable) where the damge drops in between max and min damage. Just to confuse things, Sniper Rifles and Light Machine Guns are not effected by Range, therefore they always deal their maximum bullet damage. Unless of course the bullet is obstructed by an object, but that's a whole other topic. Pistols have the least range, closely followed by the SMGs. Assult rifles have pretty good range. A rough estimate would be perhaps around 2/3's of the length of the Scrapyard map.

Silencers reduce Range. In COD4, I think they reduced Range by about 50% So it's likely to be about the same in MF2. So if you are using a SMG with a silencer, your gun will have very little range, resulting in bullet power being reduced from as little as 15 metres...

In COD4, silencers were not available for Sniper Rifles or LMGs, so the rules have been rewritten. I'm not 100% what happens to LMG's, but with Sniper Rifles, their 70 base damage is reduced to 50!

To answer your questions about Snipers:

ALL sniper rifles to a base damage of 70.
Stopping Power multiplies damage by 1.4
Sniper rifles receive damage multipliers to different areas of the body. Differs, depending on which rifle too.


For example, the .50 Cal receives the following multipliers:

Head - 1.5
Neck - 1.4
Chest - 1.4
Stomach - 1.1
Anywhere else - 1.0

With the .50 Cal, if you are using Stopping Power, with no Silencer, and hit the enemy in the stomach, the following happens: 70 base damage x 1.4 (Stopping Power) x 1.1 (multiplier) = a OHK.

Sniper Rifles are the ONLY weapons to get different damage multipliers, HOWEVER, all guns give a damage multiplier for shots to the head, which is 1.5.

Finally, Full Metal Jacket bullets do NOT increase damage. They increase the bullet's penetration amount, so making them slightly more effective when passing through objects.

After reading through what I just wrote, I didn't really make it clear about the distance 'x' where the bullet's damage changes from max to min. Basically, this 'x' amount is very small, so bullets typically do a max amount of damage and a minimum.

Here's some weapon stats for you lucky peeps:

Assault rifle:

M4: 30-20 @ 780
Scar-H: 40-30 @ 600

After reading through what I just wrote, I didn't really make it clear about the distance 'x' where the bullet's damage changes from max to min. Basically, this 'x' amount is very small, so bullets typically do a max amount of damage and a minimum.

Must admit I am getting rather bored of this game now. Akimbo 1887 are doing my head in...Maps are poor, especially positioning of buildings, near enough every building has two entrances, making urban sniping impossible, especially being equiped with only one claymore till you kill someone near and have scavenger on to pick up more. It seems like they spent alot of time on it for rushed features that are all noob friendly. Which doesn't appeal to me at all, there is no challenge in the game.

ie:
Sniper levels.
COD4:
Block. Great sniping level, people who can't snipe hate it, but the fact is loads of urban walls to hide behind, plenty of ambushing locations and a small compact level that you can snipe all the way across.
COD6:
Wasteland. Poor Sniping level, anyone with a tiny bit of knowledge of a sniper rifle can play so you end up with 12 snipers just running round aimlessly, no decent protection for sniper camp locations as the trenches are too high and the buildings are just in the wrong place. Something is always blocking the best shots. To be a master on this level just akimbo 1887 and run into the bunker pain in the arse!

Could carry on but just too damn tired at this time lol

Nah man, never use a shotty with a sheild. Always got to be the USP or something. Maybe even the M93 Raffica. Or, you can lob a throwing knife after them. That works very well.

Even if they crouch you can still hit their feet if they aren't at the right angle though.

You know my biggest fucking gripe about this game? The more you play it, you get rewarded. Thats good in principle, but for people who dont get teh chance to play it that often, it means as soon as you go on, you get creamed by someone who doesnt show up on any radars, can sprint like a cheetah, and knife you from 10 feet away. Its pish. I have about a total of 9kills because I got the game late on, and by that point everyone else was at level 49 at least, so theyre tooling about with laser sights and heartbeat blockers.

Fifa 10's the same, you play a team game on that and its full of 6'9" Usain Bolt's who can hit a Roberto Carlos dig from the halfway line.

UAV - Harriers - Chopper Gunner.......... thats what i use and they all work with each other

did have the Pavelow but chamged for Gunner - worked ther same tho

What I have.

The Harrier can be hit or miss. It is just whether you have someone on the other team waiting to take doen a Harrier or not.

Chopper Gunner is unreal on some maps, especially if it sits near a spawn point.

I want to do the AC-130 Spectre VI challenge to get the emblem but I just think that the AC sucks.

I got the Chopper Gunner on Scrapyard last night. I thought "Right, this is gonna kick ass!" I got one kill. :( Didn't even get shot down, just couldn't kill anyone. :(

Was pwning the match, got a pavelow...thought yes im getting a nuke, just had a feeling as i was playing with n00bs lol.

Pavelow came in got about 10 kills and it didnt count to my killstreaks so i had to go and get 2 more kills by myself to get my chopper :wall:

Ended the match 47 -6 :D

Was actually very near to it! One camper and somebody moving very slowly. I was preparring to take 2 shots to :D

It'd be easier if everybody didnt sprint and jump all the time. Adds to the challenge I guess.

yeah man scrapyard is tiny but there are loads of places to hide, quite good if you can kill a few then face their spawn mind lol

Easier than you think, S&D, highrise, run to the first window, aim at theirs on the opposite corner and you will see them poring out their spawn, take a shot, and every now and again you get 2 head shots 1 bullet, and unlock the "all pro" title ;)
