So I just came home to find my dad in the worst mood ever. He went to work today (he's a carpenter who works on building sites) and had to park in a public car park because for insurance reasons can't park on site. As he got out the van there were 2 council workers sweeping up leaves, didn't think nothing of it and went to work. He was up on a roof and noticed a council truck pull round the side of his van, and just assumed they were clearing the leaves. He went back to his van about 10 minutes later to get something and his van had been broken into and a generator, 2 nail guns, a cordless jigsaw and a hammer drill had been stolen..totalling £2,000
He called the police and they refused to come out because they assumed the culprits were long gone. It was obvious the council workers stole the tools and my dad said all of this to the operator...the dumb bitch then asked if the van had an logos on the side? lmfao..no you silly cow, councils drive around in unmarked vehicles!!
The police then said it would take 48 hrs for someone to investigate and issue a crime number. Tools stolen, police do f*ck all. They really are a bunch of useless c****

My dad's tools got stolen before from his van outside our house one night, we called the police straight away since my mum heard it all and the next morning they actually brought my dad's tools back :y: They also found some drugs on them scumbags that did it ;)
I feel for you and your dad though mate.

it might be worth contacting the council to see what van was operating in that area.

I have a similar issue at the minute,
Part of my Job is i sell Laser Welding machines for the Jewellery Repair industry. A customer phoned me a few days back saying his machine needed a service. A courier went to collect the machine the next day, no problem we thought........after that collection though the van got hi jacked so now there is a £13000 laser welding machine lying around somewhere.

Chin - that was a bit of luck then! lol some thieves are the dumbest people in the world...
Ryan - yeah my dad will be on to Dartford council in the morning
James - that sounds pretty bad, £13,000 is a lot of money. And the annoying thing is they have probably sold it on by now...

At least he will be able to claim o his insurance. He will need the crime number to claim from his insurance. some of the gypos in my town drive round in old council vans that have picked up from auctions cheap so they actually look like council workers but their not.

im no bright spark but if your saying the 'coucil van' was unmarked then how do you know it was a council van?
seems a bit strange that your council vehicles dont have any type of marking what so ever. 'fife coucil' isnt exactly emblazoned on every van in 3 foot letters but it's still there so people do know its a council van an not some guys casing a job... an unattended works van in your dads case

yeah fair enough , just dont see why two council workers would risk their necks to break into a van when its obvious who they are... ginda giving the cops a headstart at that one lol
