Hi guys, ok bit of a long story but to try cut it short.
My mate had a brain emerage around the beginning of this year, hes ok now, when he got out the hospital around march ish, he was told he wasn't able to drive for a year. So he said if i get insured on his car i can use it till he's aloud to drive again. So i did. On the 15th June, i was due for an operation on my finger as i broke it playing football (goalkeeper) so i went to LGI hospital, Leeds, there was no parking spaces and i was running late for my operation, so i parked on this normal street, my mum had a look, i looked, there was no signs saying permit holders only, or anything lke that, that i can gurantee. When i came out from having my op, i had a parking ticket on my car. Thought bollocks. Anyways i emailed leeds city council as soon as i got home as you are aloud to appeal against it, explaining there was no signs saying no parking or permit holders only, and i was running late for my operation, so i just parked it there, it wasn't in the way at all, it was out of the way on the side of the road. Anyway i never received a reply off the council, so im sure most of you know if you pay the fine within 2 weeks its £35, if after that its £70, so after not receiving anything back, i sent a cheque to leeds city coucil on the 27th june for £35 (got it on the 15th so thats within 2 weeks), i have proof on my cheque book, but it never came out of my account. My mate, who's car it was said on wed night, did you get a parkin ticket, i said ye but i paid it, he said cos he was getting letters sent through sayin it hadn't been paid and the payment is now £105.00. But i know for sure i emailed them and sent the cheque off. So basically what do i do now? I'm not gonna let him pay it because it wasnt his fault, but i did send the payment off for the fine, but it never came out of my account and there's no way in hell i am now paying £105.00 for it.

I received this parking ticket today on monday 15/06/86 I was at the LGI in clarendon wing, as i have broken my finger and had to have an operation on it, my appointment was at 9:30 so i couldn't wait about for parking spaces. It was on ward 63 if you would like to check on that, with a Mr Farnell. We searched for parking spaces in there car parks provided, but there was no spaces available, we drove around the streets looking for spaces, and we found a space on Clarendon Road, Woodhouse. My family was with me, they said is this a pay and display, i said i don't know ill have a look, so i walked up and down the street, could not see any pay and display boxes or notices, and there was certainly no notices saying disabled only, or no parking or permit holders only or anything as such. The spaces were marked all the way up with dotted white lines, so they were clearly legal parking spaces, and there were cars behind and in front of me which didn't have any permits or pay and display tickets on, so me and my family thought it must be ok to park there. I think this ticket is a rip off, as there should be notices up everywhere stating no parking if it isn't allowed. I have got my appointment card from the hospital, with the date and time of my appointment etc, and a date and time for my next appointment in 2 weeks time. If you want them sending through in an email i can do that, i even have an xray picture of the screw where they have screwed my finger back into place, so i can send that also to prove i am not lying about these appointments at the hospital, thanks, Jamie
