Ok so Im new to this forum... Hi all!

Im looking to buy a new head unit, followed by some new speakers for the front doors. Ive read the 'a guide to budget audio' by Ashleyp,

Ive been looking around the internet and seen 2 Head units i like the look of:

Fusion CA-CD500 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FUSION-CA-CD500-CD-TUNER-WITH-FULL-iPOD-CONTROL-BNIB_W0QQitemZ320444585356QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Au dio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car _Audio_Players_PP?hash=item4a9bfc558c
Pioneer DEH-P6000UB http://www.incar-emporium.com/product_info.php?currency=GBP&products_id=1308

I like the Fusion one better but something tells me that all of you are going to tell me the pioneer is better!?

As far as speakers for the front doors, Im open to suggestions

Thanks Simo

have a look at jbl or infinty comps as for about £10 more you can get much better spaekers.

no it will just drop stright in. JUST remember to swap round the red and yellow wires or the radio will not remember the radio stations.

Hello all, I’ve been playing with my new head unit for over a week now, very happy with it, Thanks to all who helped me in my choice.

My next dilemma is that the standard speakers sound worse than my mobile phone! The pioneer head unit's volume goes from 0 to 62 however the speakers distort at about 35ish (depending on song)

I’ve seen loads of posts that recommend the JBL GTO-507 comps, which I’m happy to buy, but my question is... to amp or not to amp? Also should I buy a sub? ....AND what about the back speakers, do I need to change them?

Cheers Simo

Thanks for that, but what I really want to know is should i buy an amp for the front comps? or will my new head unit power them enough to give a good sound? Also sub or no sub? AND rear speakers .. change or dont change?

personally i would have gone for an alpine headunit, in my opinion you just cant beat them. as for the components i have these pioneer one as they sound awesome. really nice crisp sound on cymbals and excellent when paired with a sub

if they are too expensive keep an eye out for the older version which were yellow as they are also good (my bro has them)
