remote central locking

i press the plip on my remote central locking controller, sometimes its fine and locks the car and arms the alarm. other times the lights flash, but the doors do not lock, (i hear faint clicking noises) i open the passenger side door, the alarm will go off. if i open the drivers door - the alarm does not sound.

its completely intermittent.

any ideas?

and also - if i try and lock the central locking with the key (after trying it with the button) and the alarm is set but the doors don't lock - if i try it with the key it only locks the door which im putting the key in. the passenger door and boot stay open.

if this happens i can always manually lock the doors, but the boot is still unlocked. can i deadlock the boot?

Sounds like your alarm is out of balance bud,had this on mk2 vtr while ago........
