if you need a CAT for MOT why do people waste money on getting a decat when after you need get the cat put back on...for MOT day

The CAT restricts the exhaust flow which blunts power.
Also, if you fit a tuned tubular manifold it takes the place of the cast lump and CAT anyway.
It also sounds raspy, if thats what you want...

Trouble is, what happens if you're pulled and they do a spot check?
I've seen the local fuzz carrying out roadside MOT's on random vehicles here before. If you're pulled with a decat pipe you're screwed when they check the emissions surely?

usualy give you a 7 or 14 day notice to get it changed and approved by a garage round where i am mate. then when its sorted people just change them back lol

just hope they dont know much about cars and theyl prob look under car for cat just say i think its in the manifold on this model to which they will hopefully be stumped!

so not that challenging but lot out your pocket every 12 months

Erm..........DIY ftw. How hard is it to put a cat on? I did mine in under an hour and i didn't even jack the car up!

Did Prada put the Cat back on for you?? 2 bolts and a clamp, aint really that hard to do yourself. :y:

Usually costs me about £5 to put back on. GunGum paste cost, thats all.

even so you can lob an undercar cat on if it is and youve swapped all the mani ect round
its what a lot of people do
