I'm not sure if you can use a phone as one, worth a try though.

Some headsets don't work. Just turn off your bluetooth on your phone and then on your PS3 settings, search for bluetooth devices - obviously make sure the headset is on and close to the PS3. If it finds it, it works. If not, then you'll have to get one!
