Hi Guys,
Simple question I hope.
Basically in June a lady decided to use my clio as a brake.
A settlement has been reached for the repairs, personal injuries etc
I've not claimed on my insurance for the whole lot, it's all been done through the legal team provided.
When renewing my insurance should I be detailing this as a claim made through my insurance or not?
Thanks
Mark

If you wernt at fault, i dont see why it should go down on your record... if you do it on the internet, there is a thing in the claims, where it says you were in a accident but not at fault i think.
I think if you wernt at fault, it shouldnt effect your no claims, unless you actually did claim something through your own insurance, then im not too sure

Exactly why I was asking Smithy baby, I put it on as being in a non fault accident and it went up by £300 the robbing b*stards!
All because of a stupid woman!

bloody hell, might be better off giving em a phone call.
Insurance is one big con like...
When my 306 was up for renewal, Endsleigh requoted me from £1580, to £1350.. so 200 quid saved on renewal...
Did confused.com, and Hastings quoted me £750, so half the price of the year before.. rang Endsleigh, and they said they can knock another £20 off there original quote...
How can one company do it 600 cheaper than another!

A non fault claim shouldnt affect your policy at all to be honest mate.
I'd ring em and ask why...NCD is NOT lost through a non fault....aslong as they can recover their losses....if she was uninsured or w.e some companies consider it a fault accident as they cant recoup their loss.

Sadly non-fault claims DO affect your quote with most insurance companies, there are a odd few that won't increase your quote though.

Some old bugger went into the side of me and wrote my vtr off last week. I cant believe for a second that this is going to affect my quote when i did nothing wrong! :panic:

Disagree...insurance company must be w*nk.
All the insurers I use at work dont increase your premium because someone hit you.
They would only do that if the claim was fraudulent or the claim was something stupid like someone scratched your car or w/e because they class those claims as fault.

Sadly there are quite a few that will put it up, despite who's fault it was.
I've had 2 non-fault accidents.

Well, there is a fair few insurers I use at my work and I cant think of any of them that would put your premium up because someone decided kindly to ram into you lol.

When i was ringing around insurance companies this year over half of them put the quote up due to two non-fault accidents. Can't remember which ones though =\
