when i try to start the car sometimes it turns over for a couple of seconds before starting other times it starts straight away and sometimes you get a little smell of petrol? but always seemed to run fine an never saw any leaks on the floor so thought nothing of it

today after it cut out i was turning it over and it was firing then cutting straight out i was doing it a few times and it started and was running and i got about a mile or so and it cut out again, done the same sat turning it over then decided to get my uncle to tow me home as i wasnt far from home

i got out to put the towing eye in and noticed a rainbow puddle on the floor which im guessing is petrol? its raining also so when i lift the bonnet everything jus gets wet but i did notice there is a very tiny little puddle sitting n the inlet under the injectors so could it be the injectors playing around/leaking or something?

UPDATE: I have changed my inlet and injectors + rail and tried to start the car today and its still not starting it just turns over and doesnt fire... I pulled the fuel line off the fuel rail and petrol poured out so its pressured up on the rail just seems like its not firing

Also i did go through quiet a big puddle a little while before the car started playing around, is there anything that might of got wet? i have a k&n filter the puddle wasnt that big to reach the inlet on the filter lol

have been having a read and thinking maybe coil pack (but surely would only missfire, not cause it to not start at all)

maybe crank sensor? i taken it out and cleaned it but still no luck but maybe its gone up the shoot?

any other ideas guys?

someone please shed come light! :(

is there anything the water from the puddle may have damaged? it was funny starting somtimes like before as i said sometimes took a few seconds turning over before actually starting

Maybe water went in inlet and hydrolised engine??? Started to seize??? Could be something to do with crankshaft, starter motor or alternator.

Check the voltage on the battery mate. Would be 12.8v with no ignition, but if you can get it running it will be 14.3v. If neither of them read right either battery or alternator

got the vehicle started today after changing a few bits

i changed the coil pack, crank sensor and fuel injection relay

started and running got up the road turned a corner and started cutting out on me

turning over and would not start again, i then decided to give the pump etc a bang and left for a minute then it started back up

do you think it may be the fuel pump on its way?

forgot to mention still do not hear it priming or maybe fuel filter blocked
