alot of people chat through general chat, often minutes after the last post.. i dunno if youve looked into it, but how about a chatroom.. i think it would be really popular with the faithfull!

This idea has been floated a couple of times, but it isn't going to happen on Saxperience.

Live chat has benefits, but there are also many limitations which have already been discussed in earlier threads:

Live Chat? (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5769)
Chat (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10751)
CHAT (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12549)
daily chit chat (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=18649)
Chat Room? (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=24369)

MSN/Yahoo/GayOL/Google/Skype all do a much better job than we could, so we leave the live chat to them.

^ I guess alot of people ask for advice, i'm one of them. I wouldnt want to add someone to msn just to ask some advice etc.. although this can be done in the forum a chat room would be a quicker response, also wouldnt leave a thread hanging about after the persons question is answered.

also wouldnt leave a thread hanging about after the persons question is answered.

This is one of the reasons threads are benificial, you can search for questions to save the same ones being asked over and over again. Too many people treat the forums as a chat and ask the question before they have even searched for their answer. Then the first person to reply usually quotes something from the search!

^ true but the problem is people dont search, Ok some do.. but lets face it most dont. So the sort of people who are going to post a question without searching are the sort of people who want answers the quickest way they can get it, this would be starting a new thread without searching. So if there was a chat room they would obviosly go there, much quicker. The problem of people not searching will never go away, new members.. etc. So a chat room would make the mods job that bit easyer I think by not having to search every question asked and deleting or telling them its a repost

As outlined many times in the past.. there will NOT be a Saxperience chat room.
