help needed quick!!!

hi people!
ive just been out driving and when i went to change from 2nd to 3rd my revs just shot up and i didnt go anywhere! when i got the car home a put it in 3rd and took my foot off the clutch and nothing happend? just as if the car was in neutral? all the other gears are fine. i was just wondering if anyone knows what it could be because i dont want 2 be forking out 4 a new gear box if i dont need 1.

Hi,

Before suspecting the gearbox, then check your gear linkage rods. Have someone select the gears whilst you feel if the selector rods are fully engaging the selector arms towards the rear of the gearbox.

ive just had somebody look at my linkages and he says there fine so its looking like a new gearbox!! is anyone selling one or know where i can get 1 on the cheap? cheers!! :y:

any noises or smells , revs shooting up could be a slippy clutch if u completely lost a gear ud know about it and chances are the box would be proper knackered if a cog went

my clutch is slipping abit yes, but i dont fink its anything to do with my gearbox goin though, i dont understand whats gone on?? when i try 2 select
3rd even with the clutch out the gear stick just pushes straight up very easy, could do it with youre little finger!! lol! i dunno whats goin on its doin my head in nw!!! haha! :wall:
