hi for a while now my fuel gauge seems to be incorrect, i top up say £10 in the tank when its on empty and it hits half on the gauge, the flloing morning or day it will show as empty again!!!!! (ive checked to see if om not leaking fual which im not) however this still happens even after the car has warmed up. Its quite dangerous actually if you think about it cos i might see that there is half a tank in and really it s on reserve but i dont know about it.

I have recentely tried to change the backlights on my dials this might have caused it however dont want to touch them anymore incase i do anymore damage.

is their a garage (or if anyone knows of one in Middlesbrough) that can look at the problem and correct the dials as a service?

Thanks

I recentely took my dial needles on and off. could this have caused it also wjen i turn the key the speedi and rev nedles start first time but the fuel needle vibrates on the spot for about half a minuite then goes to what it thinks the fuel is at/

What could have caused this?

mine does exactly the same, mine always says its in the reserve and i got the stupid orange light so i just ignore it. best thing is to learn how much miles u get out of ur petrol. i get about 30 miles to a fiver, 60 miles to a tenner. best bet is find that out mate nd just go by that.

I know mate but that doesnt get rid of the problem, wil there be any mecanics that could diagnose and fix the fault?

i have no idea, id say its the sensor, but it dosn't really bother me so i left it alone. wouldnt say its anything to do with taking the clocks apart.
