well not so much winter tyres but I am thinking more on the lines of something that is really good in wet/greasy conditions and would cope well in the snow aswell

Michelin.
I absolutely swear by them now and I'm sure Sayer will do too. I had them fitted about 14000 miles ago, still got 4-5mm tread left and literally grip no matter what the condition. Highly recommended.

When I did work experience (talking a good few years obviously) the guys in the garage recommended them saying they are really good too (Vredstein)
I'm using Primacy HP tyres - expensive for my car, but they are an unusual size. I wouldn't let anyone say T1Rs are good in wet, as I found them shit really.
I use this website mate for helping me choose. I'd check out 'Uniroyal' too.

Rainsports for wet weather, also found they were pretty good in the dry aswell. The tyres hardwearing aswell so will last a while into the summer months where they are good performers aswell.

michelin pilot exalto's imo
havnt compared with much else, not to make a worth while comparison
but like luke and sayer, ive never had any problems, and the tread left is unreal!
they cost a bit more though

I pay £157 a corner for my Michelins lol.
Exaltos are as good as Primacy I believe too from the reviews I have read. I found Federals rubbish though (Lasted 6k on the 307).

ive had 3 tyres on my saxo both front and back.the original michelins,t1-r and goodyear f1's.overall grip to me is the most important factor.goodyear f1 have almost as much grip in the wet as the michelins have in the dry.t1-r are somewhere in the middle.
cant comment on others tyres that i havnt tried on the saxo, but if theres another tyre out there better than the f1 come rain snow and shine id like to know about it.

agreed with dinga, i found f1's to be better than the t1-r's and would recommend them for anyone

will invest in some more than likely when money allows but need something to cope with the mass amount of fail like weather

Aye got F1s on atm, theyve lasted about 15k of a mixture of driving. Extremly good in the wet, and astounding in the dry for a road tyre :)
Ive got MOT first week in december and F1s are on the list again.

Uniroyal Rainsports
I had the 2's fitted. they have the 3's out now aswell. Fucking shit hot in the wet and up there with the best in the dry. Wear rate is fantastic aswell. I need 2 new fronts now and must have done 15/20k of mixed driving.
Check review sites for them, I will definately be getting them again!
