Willsy's as it's constantly changing, is always done to a massivly high standard with no time,effort or expense spared and most of the work has been done by himself (and mates) as apposed to garages even down to doing most (i think all) of the prep work for when he had it resprayed!

One of the things that really puts me off tbh, yes the paint looks great, but it just doesn't get used..

I totally agree with you Rey, when you have something immaculate you dont really want to use it, luckily i have an everyday car.

Everyone is different though i guess....i still get my enjoyment from taking the saxo for a little drive every now and then and keeping it tidy.

the likes of james & claire's saxo for eg may be seen by some as "just very clean"

where as ryans (although not running) has an epic engine, but some may think of it as a shed (especially if you look at the dashboard lol) because ryans a function > looks type of guy.

haha thats kinda my theory tbh rey i dont see the point in it being immaculat i had an imaculate freshly repainted 205 for all of 3 hours and some cunt scraped it in a carpark then 2 weeks later i wrapped it round a tree
so i dont tend to be fussy now as in the end you end up just anal over it all

The most "in" progress threads are the cars that appeal most to members.

You mention Matt (yates) car. Another great example that most people have never seen on this forum because he doesnt post anymore.

New members opinions against older members opinions will differ a great amount! Hence why you will never get a even contrast.

You could throw even more names out like FMP's Saxo, Bullits Saxo, Steve's black GTi, Matt's "dark destroyer" 180bhp 106 GTi from PGAC, Bic's K16 PUG in its original form, Samcooks car, Cloud's VTR, Sybez's GTi etc etc etc.

Most of these cars will be long forgotten now.

granted cars like half mentioned do get attention as there well known

i agree to a certain extent..

i feel the "best" cars progress threads (imo) arent filled with "ZOMG cleaned my car please comment" pics.

take toads car for example, his is the most popular in terms of progress thread comments at the min, but it's all relevant info from him as to what he's doing / working out little niggles.

i also feel the top car's on this site are all 106's lol

Personally, I think it's due to 90% of this site having T-Cut badges, de-wipered, lowered on vts wheels, etc etc etc all following the same trend.
