View Full Version : a few questions... Keys / Exhausts / clutch

after a little help and guidance with a few bits please.

first off, Keys.
we only got one key with the car, and thats one that we have to manually use to unlock the car.
is it still possible to source a key with the remote unlock/lock feature?
and if so, is it one of those things thats purely manufacturer only?

secondly, Exhaust.
the first silencer after the CAT is a little rattly inside at certain revs, and the rear silencer is starting to come apart around the welded seams, so in an ideal world the system needs to replaced from the cat back.

ive had a mate price up to replace those parts for me and the price is warrantable, but i wanted to see if the standard system is overly restrictive or is it worth looking at other options?
we dont want huge 3" tailpipes hanging out the back of the car, or deafening drones from the exhaust, so what other options are there, and vaguely costs involved so i can guage if its worth the outlay.

finally, Clutch.
when replacing your clutches, what have you opted for?
on ours the release bearing is a tad noisy, and the bite point is quite high so id like to take care of it before it all lets go on us.
and from what i can gather the clutches for a standard replacement is quite cheap.
is a standard one worth opting for again?

just to add with the Clutch and Exhaust, we arnt after any major power hikes with the car, so catering for more than is required could be a wasted effort and money

cheers all ;)

Id go to citroen mate if you wanted the original, if not you could get a central locking kit

why a central locking kit when it already has central locking?

seem to get beter help on other sites, seems a little here that if your not known then your not really spoken to!!

if you want a new key and key fob you have to contact citroen, iirc its quite expensive.

so possibly fitting an aftermarket central locking kit is cheaper?

I got quoted over 300 for a central locking system with a new key thats coded. Thats from citroen.
