Ok, so i know i need a new input shaft bearing as it's really fooking load!, but when i'm stopping for a junction, normally downhill, i put my clutch in ( still in gear ) and it makes a load whining noise, slowly getting quieter the slower i go, but as soon as i put in in neutral the noise goes!

Would i just be better off getting a whole new gearbox?

or would changing the bearing stop this noise?

I bought a recon box with a 2 year guarantee for like £280.
