Im gonna service my saxslow, and recomendations as to what oil to buy and what filter? Ive got plugs and everything, its done 90k miles and i do a far bit of motorway miles.

genuine filter and 10w40 semi synthetic oil.

yea u can buy the filters cheap from halfords, universal ones, and 10w40 is ideal really..

would cleaning out the standard filter work the same as getting a new one...lol just wondering?

lol thers no point cleaning a filter out, there not that expensive and your engine will apreciate a new one..

Oil filter is only a few quid so might as well.
I would use 10/40 semi synthetic oil and also replace the fuel/air filter too.

If it wouldnt make any difference people probably would not change it hehe :)
But I think it is worth your money for the car to breath better..etc..

im getin a new fuel and air filter next week, had oiland filter change not so long ago and spark plugs, and toped up oil today and car seemed to be running alot better.

Yeah I am giving my car a good service in few weeks, just need to buy all the parts so I can do it all at once.

You can't clean standard filters. Aftermarket filters howeer, can be cleaned and re-oiled and will outlast the life of the car.
