This is really starting to irritate me!!! smileys/smiley13.gif
I have been searching for a Mrk 1 Saxo VTR and have
2000 quid burning a hole in my pocket
Everyone I have seen has either had bad problems
(today the car had a steering rack problem which would have cost £650!!!!!!!!!)
And others over price them so much,
One on ebay wanted £2200 for a saxo with 98,000 miles and had only been lowered 60mm all round, is it me or is that OVER priced
I look onto www.parkers.co.uk for a valuation and a saxo vtr 1998 (R Reg) with an average milage of 70000 is worth (in good conditon 1650)
All I can say is im glad that my dad is a pro mechanic or i would have bought the car i saw today in a flash and then would have cost 650 extra to sort the rack problem
Is there anywhere else I can look other than auto trader and ebay
Cheers Guys and great website

i had this prob, ebay and autotrader are the best places, try the loot but otherwise ull find it hard to get a cheap one.. and yes that is over priced for that mileage

the one on ebay is over priced i have an r reg and 88k miles wouldnt expect to get 2200 for it. mines in fair nick tho full service history last at 80k so 2k more ish for the next i change oil sparks and fuel between times. not lowered or anything tho but lovely alloys. think the parkers is a little under valued to 70k on an r i reckon 1850-2100

Fair enough I did think when i saw parkers valuation was a bit low as I had been looking before and no cars were goin in that kind of price range
Its a god thing to take along to barter with a seller tho lol smileys/smiley2.gif smileys/smiley2.gif smileys/smiley2.gif

yeah def and a haynes in the hand always scares the shit out of them coz they think youll take ages so lower the price to get rid of you....handy hint smileys/smiley2.gif spend 200-300 more think theres a mk2 vtr w reg just under 70k miles on the clock in the for sale section vtr (http://www.sax-p.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=27400&PN=3)

look for oil on the left hand side of the engine, and check the oil cap for white stuff, if there is anything like that say u want £500 off the price as the head gasket has gone ;)
happened to me but it only just started as i bought the car :S
