right guys my mate has a saxo vtr with a 106 gti conversion and had used the vts wireing loom but used the ecu, transponder, key and the black key thingey off a 106 gti well that was fine for a few months but it has now encured a missfireing prblem its not the head gasket as it has been checked its had a new fuel rail as the other one had snapped and its also had to have a second coil pack. Now what i cant understand is why it is missing like a twat ? has anyone else had the same problem ? could you please let me no asap as trying to get it sorted asap

HT leads, spark plugs? Battery in good condition? MAF sensor? Crankshaft position sensor?

which is the MAF sensor ? battery is good its got brand new spark plugs it dont run on HT leads as its a vts which have a coil pack mate lol

HT Lead fail. haha, Mass Air flow sensor, tells ECU how much air is coming into the engine and adjusts the fuel to suit.. no idea where they are on saxos.. just a common 306 problem that causes all sorts of problems with misfiring

hmm now where the hell is this MAF sensor then ??? lol do you reckon an unlocked ecu would make any difference ???

nope, its just like any other sensor, maf/map sensor is usually located on the air intake
