I hope you guys got an address, and asked if you could collect.

No, he's a friend of mine off Cliosport who i put in contact with Saxxy1988 re: an engine. Saxxy1998 then asked for bank transfer to Halifax/cash to be sent in the post lol.

Sorry guys, but if you've bought anything from him, id say you've been shafted as per the 106moaners thread ... it sounds like the same guy tbh.

i read this and i cant believe how gullible people are :S really "can you send the money direct into my bank account please?" if that doesnt seem dodgy and scream "SCAM!!"

then you idiots who paid need your heads testing.

only thing i can say is ring the police (if he turns out to be fraudulent) and give them his bank details...

maybe saxp needs to change the forsale section to where you have to read the does and dont's on paying for goods....

ie a paypal tutorial... not forum rules..

just my opinion but i dont think the mods need to do anything and even if they did how many people would actually read them they would just skip it like many people skip terms and conditions pages etc,

its not our place to baby sit people that think its ok to send money to strangers and then cry when they have been ripped off. this is why we suggest that you pay via PayPal or pay cash in person. But again we are not responsible for any transactions. The For Sale section could be easily removed to stop this happening but this would spoil it for the majority of the members that have trouble free transactions

Hes a premium member so has paid to join etc, which did re assure me a bit, but time will tell as said.

i just cannot understand why people go to such legnths for a £100 its easy enough to make money out of trading on the internet with stuff you actualy have rather than making it up and stealing,

when i needed money to build the road rally car, i used to go down the the scap yard on a weekend and buy anything i could that i new would sell.

206 brakes, full VTR Kits, GTI Kits, Saxo Dash's etc etc and i would look in side the Wanted section and see what i could get from there, it was easy £10 £30 profit on each purchase (my scappy was super cheap cos he wanted to sponsor me but hey ho) and it paid for the engine rebuild, it was easy money, i only picked quality goods, and i didnt try and sell anything that visually couldnt be guarenteed (IE i wouldnt sell an engine as it could have done 1000miles or 1000000miles,)

but why people are like they are and go out of their way to scam as much as they can i will never quite comprehend.

I have put it in the suggestions forum before but I think if people want to sell something they should have to have a photo of it and their user name next to it to prive they actually have the goods, yes its not going to guarantee they post it but its just a slightly increased sense of knowing they actually have the damn thing to sell in the first place!!

Adam_Q
24th November 2009, 11:18
tbh you shouldn't pay for expensive items unless you are going to collect.... just use your common sense people! If its milleage then don't buy it!

Your gonna have this sort of thing happen no matter what site you use... ebay have to deal with this all the time but they special in this, where as Saxp is just a forum with the added bonus of a for sale section!

27th November 2009, 14:55
Sometimes I think that 90% of this world are completely moronic. Fair enough even the most cautious people can't always help getting scammed but seriously;

Bank Transfer only?
Engines and Gearboxes posted?

If you can't smell SCAM from that then you truly deserve to be deprived of your money. It should just be going to a better cause, rather than some cowardly e-scammer's back pocket.

ive got an update, say bye bye to the moeny handed over by bank transfer, sorry like but as posted, you ppl are sooooooooooooo stupid, i wouldnt even send bank transfer to ppl with a 16,000 post count, you simply cant prove anything with it or without it, even if you find the lad etc and name adress and fookin boxer short colour you cant prove anything by it and simply the police cant do anything, you put money in his bank account

Read same thing on someone from around same area on Pug 106 OC site earlier. The mods used his IP address to find out what area he lived in. Then they gave all his bank account details (Halifax again) and paypal account email to the police, managed to get his mobile number too (what they was going to do with that ive no clue)

Not saying its the same person mind, but at xmas people get pretty desperate more than normal and if its that easy for them well they will do it!
