Hi all, just turned 40 now and bought myself a x reg Saxo diesel for work, had 9 winters on a motorbike and have had enough, I have a local biodiesel supplier selling it for 88p a litre, so thought I would give it a go, works a treat no problem, can recommend it to anyone.
Anyway my question is how easy is it to replace the camshaft seal, the saxo has an oil leak, and after reading some threads on here, I gunked the engine and looked for the leak, yes it appears behind the alternator and drips of the bottom left of the alternator bracket. I am quite mechanically minded and would like to 'tinker' with it myself ( havn't tinkered in years), the cambelt will have to be done (and needs doing) with the seal, can someone give me some advice on how to do both and is it fairly straight forward. I will give the engine a service (filters, oil etc) whilst doing the seal / belt job, is there anything else I can do (or worth doing) whilst doing all this.
Thanks in advance for any advice
