Most people have worked out that its infact cheaper buying it offline and getting a decent contract, over 18-24months the difference soon adds up to a saving in the long run

That was my idea. I pay 40 quid a month for my Blackerry for 18 months and I can sell my Blackberry for hopefully near the £200 mark.
So then get an iPhone on PAYG for £440 minus the £200 ish from the Blackberry and it could work out alright.
Ill look into it.

I'd personally get an iPhone on contract, try and blag a free one with a slightly more expensive contract or sell your BB to directly pay for the iPhone on contract.

Don't forget you'd have to pay a monthly charge for unlimited internet and text bundles even on PAYG.

I paid £440 for mine.

If i wanted it on Contract it would of cost me around £90 and i'd be stuck with it for 2 years paying £45 fuck that ha..

I just use a 30 day rolling contract sim in mine, less than £20 a month and i get more minutes, texts etc than i would do paying £45 or whatever.

One of my main reasons is the credit crunch, i can just cancel my 30 day thing anytime and i'm sorted. I don't think it's a good time to get tied down with bills at the moment

No ive already got an 18 month contract with Orange that I took out in May, with unlimited browsing and the usual extras. So I was gonna sell my BB and buy the iPhone on PAYG scheme and put my Orange sim card in there.
