I have to have my key in the ignition and turned at least 1 notch to have my headunit on....is there anyway i can make so i don't have to do this to turn it on?

not sure...probably. But why would you want to do that...not really difficult to turn the key a bit

swap the red and yellow wires round on the connector or it may be connect the red to the yellow or yellow to the red one of them

so i can let people listen to it without giving them the key! last time i did that they thought it would be funny to drive off round the car park!

surely if you do that you will have to physically press the off button to switch it off when you turn the engine off...fcuk em mate, if your not in the car who cares, lol

In my dads work smart car it turns off when you turn engine off, but just press the on button again to turn it back on then again to turn it off.

cheers, can i just pull out the wires or will i have to cut them and stick em back together?

what your going to have to ensure is that you take the power from the permanent live at the moment. Use this and leave the connection between this and the permanent live going to the headunit. Now thats intact bridge across the permanent live to the ignition live of the head unit.
This will leave the headunit permanently on unless you remove the face plate so beware

sorry to provide no useful information but while the thread is here i may aswell...
My headunit does work without the ignition on, so does this feature vary between saxo versions? or is my saxo special? smileys/smiley4.gif
