I've got abit of a problem, my power steering has gone on my 106 gti i don't have a clue what it could be i've changed the relay and it's still extremely heavy, but when i drive for awhile it goes light and starts to get shakey.. it's gettin alittle silly and dangerous i think..
if you guys know what it could be i'd be totally greatful :)

it's the pump then mate, but for the vibrating.... not too sure on that one.

Wheel shaking can be down to wheels, egt them balanced also get the tracking done, if it still does it then check for play by jacking the car up and rocking the wheels, could be a bearing or a worn bush, balljoint or bearing
could also be an engine mount
The power steering could be low on fluid or most probablies be a dodgy pump, give it a tap with a mallet on the actual pump not the resevoir, it sometimes kicks back into life, could also be the earth on the alternator or even the plug itself
You havent got any leaks on the ground when you drive off, have a check
