Hi,

1. When I'm driving along with my music loud, the head unit dims when the sub booms, why is this?

2. And also, when I'm in my car with the engine off, but the ignition on and the music on. When I do something such as turn my sidelights on, or indicate, or set my wipers off there is a loud boom from the sub, this is REALLY annoying and I haven't got a clue why it does it..

Dan.

Any idea what gauge wire your running?
Could well be a too small gauge wire, cant really see it being a fuse problem.
Whats your earthing points like? Any earthing from the amp will have to be rubbed down to bare metal for a good earth. Also it could be worth upgrading the earth in the car "The big 3" With a thicker gauge wire.
Go to the ice section and look in pred's sticky. plenty of info there about upgrading earths etc.

Theres your problem mate, Have a look on the sticky in the ice section and it will tell you everything you need to know.

I run 8 gauge wire which tbh is still on the pretty small side but it does the job for my low power sub / amp.
Depending on what your running have a look on
caraudiodirect.co.uk
and pick yourself up some 8 or 4 guage power and earth wire / some terminals to attach them properly / and a good quality fuse and holder. and get it all earthed properly.

Alot of people overlook wiring and earthing in a system. I could buy some dsl / hertz mega expensive speakers and pop them in a custom build etc. But if notihng is earthed properly and the wire is thinner than your hair then its going to sound worse than some halfords equipped ax running 28 fusions subs :D

when I get the time/it stops raining I'll sand down the mental its earthed to properly and then when I have some money, I'll buy some bigger gauge wire..

Cheers for the help mate!
