Knocking noise coming from front.

I have a new noise it's comeing from the front driverside it's either a driveshaft or the gearbox.

It's not wheelbearing/whineing or cv joint/clicking noise.

When driving it's (knocking) but dissapers when i speed up i no there prone for driveshaft's and have weak gearbox's is there anyway to tell witch one it could be?

Had the car jacked up no movement from the wheel at all but when you put it in gear and spin the wheel from left to right (i say spin but you no it moves left and right a lil bit when in gear) the driveshaft the end it goes into the gearbox make's the knocking noise but i don't witch one it is.

Help!! Need my car for work and dont wanna drive it and the diff lock's up on me awwww. :y:

does it make any noises when on full lock when you go back and forwards?? This is a way of testing the differential mate.

will check diff later and post finding's :y:

p.s it dosen't do it all the time it comes and goes dosent do it when turning left or right when driving just does it when im going striaght even on a smooth road pp.s (i have a crunchy 3rd).

Tested it in a quite car park today no noise when doing the above ^^^

It goes if i accelrate but then comes back when i take my foot off sound's like a worn d/s tbh
