Any one else whose is on their first year at uni done the same as me and dropped themselves in the shit by not doing assignments till the last minute?

i currently have 2 essays and a presentation due in in about 10 hours!
If you havent i suggest not doing it lol

what is everyone who hasnt dropped themselves in it like moi secret to concentrating on work? essay buddies to keep yourself on track?

I did all my essays like this. To concentrate i used to work for 30-40 mins, get one set of ideas on paper, then play on Gran Turismo for 2 mins. Then repeat until it was done.

Admitedly, i would spend a couple of days digesting books, articles & journals before actually writing the piece.

I finished my degree in computing in June and failed my Hons project by 6%! Have to say that redoing work while everyone else is enjoying themselves is not good.

The feeling you get from starting and completing work early is so much better than pulling an all nighter. If I ever go back to do an MSc I will start work the day it's given out.

You're in your first year so go out and have some fun but also make sure you're aiming to complete work at least a few days ahead of the hand in date.

I used to leave all mine to the last min. So would do them on the last couple of nights, it litereally was the only way i would get motivated to do them. Otherwise i would always think hmm ive got a week left why do it now lol and go find somthing better to do.

ive done this for the past 4years:homme: got 3 assignements to be done in the next 2weeks which are unstarted and quite bloody big aswel and not just essays either :( gota start soon i think

if i was paying to learn summit then i would do the essays straight away so i know it all sorted, if i failed i would cry at losing all that money

Similar situation here! had 4 weeks to do an assignment and have until Friday for hand in!

Currently on my 2nd year and at the start came to a realisation that I need to pass "all" modules because It's hard enough getting motivated to do regular assignments never mind playing catchup.

I had the same thoughts about I have a week, I will start tomorrow etc.

Overall I wasted 3 weeks, 1 week holiday "term time" 1 week off for birthday and I spent last week for "hobby/work"

Should be working now but start tomorrow at 11:30 > 4 so cba :wall: :panic:

pretty much my entire uni existence was based on leaving everything to the last minute. I never handed in anything late though... but like shoved a couple of essays through the box with about 10 secs to spare. and done a 3 day in a row all-nighter just to finish off some crap.

TBH just work like fuck and i mean 2k words on an essay aint that much, i mean im on 4th year uni and forgot to do a credit transfer at the start, so i had to do project management again. was due in last january and i didnt start working on it until 19 hours before hand within 3 hours i was finished. I have a good knack at talking shite on paper. An d lucky for me i got a C which is a shitty pass BUT a pass none the less
