how to test a coil pack ?

how would i know if i need a coil pack before i buy ?


i took it out the block and turned the car over ..... should theres be a spark comming from each individual plug ?

my car isnt starting so the car was turning over with no joy but when i took the coil pack out the block there was no spark comming from any off the tubes that are connected to it.

just wanted to know if there is meant to be ?
